Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have thanked The Vampire Diaries DVD Box set fans for their support of the show.

Writing after their appearance at the Paley Festival yesterday, the duo - Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert respectively - also apologised for their abrupt departure.

"For everyone who came to the Paley festival to see us: Thank you so so much for spending time with us," Somerhalder wrote.
