Default disappointing start

First off just let me say that I am a fan of medical dramas as a rule. I am an ER nurse and I usually enjoy fictional shows based on hospital or pre-hospital situations. That said I was disappointed in Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setmostly because of the gross medical errors in the script. Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setcould be an excellent show but they need to take the time to research actual medical procedures, conditions, drugs, etc. to give Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setsome depth in reality.
For example a patient that arrives by helicopter would first go to the ER not to a private room. Second Dr. Shepard is a surgical attending but the only surgery we see him do is neurosurgery, which is a completely different discipline in Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Set. Then we see Dr. Burke perform an appendectomy and an open heart in the same episode. Again general surgery and cardiovascular surgery are different disciplines. Also when the girl has here "grand mal" seizure they give the right drugs but in the wrong amounts. When the girl goes into cardiac arrest they show the ECG monitor and Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setshows a completely different rhythm then the one they are treating.
Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setcould be a great show with a little more work put into it. One of things that makes ER so appealing is that it is a fairly accurate (for a TV show) portrayal of a real ER. I like the characters in Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setand I think the cast has some good chemistry and a lot of potential. Hopefully the writers of Grey's anatomy Seasons 1-5 DVD Box Setwill take some time to put a little more reality into the script.
